Neil Macdonald
Call me a news junkie but I've always been a fan of Neil Macdonald. His insightful feature from today is a good example of the frankness with which he conveys his stories.
It's about the credit crisis in the States. I watch American TV and this is an American story, yet no story I've seen before actually reveals the impact of this crisis on people. Most stories are how it affects rich people's stocks or the economy at large.
It's all fluff in the State, cowardly fluff. No US news organization seems to want to piss off the establishment. (Hence, the Daily Show is often far more insightful than real news shows, which is sad.)

I thought it was a joke at first, but he actually is the brother of comedian Norm Macdonald according to multiple internet sources, including IMDb.com (where people usually author their own bios.)
