Who says we don't need the CBC?
I'm sitting here watching CTV Newsnet on the Saturday three days before Christmas and story after story is about holiday spending and holiday air travel. The problem is, each of these stories is American dressed up to look like it is Canadian. The id/sign-offs at the end have been chopped off ("This is Timmy for NBC News.")
So viewers might wonder if 3 in 10 holiday shoppers really are going to spend less this year. Our culture is different than that of the U.S. Sure you can debate those differences but you can't debate that our economies are different. It's just that they're not even trying. Why do they even exist on the weekends if they can't produce their own reports? Why not sign off? I've got dozens of American channels I can watch those reports on, I don't need CTV Newsnet eroding away my Canadian identity.

Here's a little CanCon to boost your spirits then. It's YOU.
CBC news is vital to ensure that news from the Canadian perspective but a couple of weeks ago when Britney Spears was carted away in ambulance and her children away, CBC Newsworld was giving it just as much coverage as the other news channels, That's not news it's celebrity tabloid crap!! Come on CBC set a higher standard
